The field of aging has blessed Sikizi Allen with the most gratifying and rewarding career in aging. For over 25 years, Ms. Allen has worked with the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program (Northern and Southern California) and Senior Citizens Multipurpose Centers in West Hollywood, Gardena and Inglewood. After retiring from the City of Inglewood in 2011 with 16 years of service as Senior Center Programs Director, Ms. Allen completed a year of volunteer service at the Los Angeles Department of Aging with the California Elder Economic Security Initiative as Volunteer Coordinator. Ms. Allen volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association, California Southland Chapter as an Ambassador for the Office of Congresswoman Maxine Waters, 43rd Congressional District, as a Speakers Bureau member and with the Dementia Care Network. She also serves as founding member of the City of Inglewood’s BE WELL Program Task Force and is a member of Black Women’s Network. Ms. Allen is a graduate of the American Society on Aging’s New Ventures in Leadership Program for Leaders of Color in the Field of Aging. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ethnic Studies with a minor in Gerontology and Public Administration from California State University, Chico.
