Sherrie-Ann Gordon is a writer, public speaker, philanthropist, and social entrepreneur. Her career in public service includes rising through the ranks at AARP to now serve as a member of the California State leadership team. Ms. Gordon is the Manager for Multicultural Markets & Specialty Programs in AARP's California office. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Trinity College (Hartford, CT), a Certificate in Project Management from UCLA, is an active alumna and serves on the Alumni Board of Williston Northampton School (Easthampton, MA). In 2013, Ms. Gordon was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown as a Commissioner on the Dental Hygiene Committee of California. She has held several roles within AARP, including Sr. Associate of Operations and Finance for the AARP Connecticut Office, as well as Program Coordinator for Volunteer Engagement, and Project Manager for AARP International. Ms. Gordon had an extensive professional and volunteer background in public service prior to joining AARP. She worked as the campaign finance consultant for Mayor Eddie Perez of Hartford; Community Data Analyst for Citizens’ Research Education Network; and Team Coordinator for New Ground Day Camps (an organization founded to help NYC children become reacclimatized to life in their neighborhoods immediately following 9-11). As part of her personal commitment to help faith-based organizations operate more efficiently, Ms. Gordon has served as the Director of Lahairoi Youth Program at First Church and Assistant Director for Public Relations and Marketing for Sarah's Daughters Mentoring Program at The City of Refuge Church in Gardena, CA.
